3.1 Epichlorohydrin Technical Bulletin

Epichlorohydrin is a colorless, mobile liquid with a characteristic chloroform-like, irritating odor. It is employed as a raw material for the manufacture of a multitude of glycerol and glycidol derivatives used as plasticizers, stabilizers, solvents, dyestuff intermediates, surface active agents and pharmaceuticals, and as intermediates for further synthesis. It is used in the manufacture of epoxy resins for surface coatings, castings, laminates and adhesives as well as specialty resins for water treatment, paper treatment and ion exchange.

Hexion's Epichlorohydrin is available in tank cars and tank trucks. Upon request barge and tanker shipments are also possible. Sample quantities are available in one-quart containers. Less than tank truck quantities are available from Aldrich Chemical Company (414-298-7959) through their Mini BulkTM program.
